Dwarf Signals

Photos by E.E. Davis unless noted.

Photos of CSX Cincinnati Terminal were done so with permission and the
supervision of a CSX operations official.

Ever wonder what holds a CPL dwarf in place? Here is a photo of the foundation frame that is usually buried in the ballast.

3/4 wedge shot of the west siding signal at Deshler, Ohio.

A sad site indeed. Three recently retired dwarf signals lie at the base of the cantilever signal that replaced them. J.E. Landrum photo.

Same signal seen above, however, its base was broken after being struck by something from a passing train.  A steel rod and some signal wire now hold it in place.

Greenbelt signal, Baltimore, MD. Photo courtesy of a TCSX member. Showing it's age... this dwarf signal, located at Finney, Ohio on the former B&O Cincinnati to St. Louis line, is likely one of the original signals installed on this line.
